Study of the antileishmanial activity of novel guanidine and hybrid acridine - guanidine compounds.
Summary: Leishmaniasis is a tropical disease caused by tiny parasites. Right now, the medicines we have to treat it are not very good, so scientists are working hard to find new, safe, and better drugs. In this study, researchers tested a new type of medicine made by combining two chemicals (guanidine and acridine). They found that this new combination works much better at killing different types of the parasite in the lab. This is a very promising step toward a better treatment!
