Suicidal Risk in Patients with Sex Addiction: Frequency, Sociodemographic, and Clinical Characteristics.
Summary: Imagine feeling like you can't control your sexual urges, and it starts to ruin your life. This is called sex addiction. Doctors recently looked at 136 people getting help for this problem. They found something very sad: almost half of them (46%) were at risk for suicide.
People with sex addiction were more likely to feel suicidal if they also had depression or anxiety, if their family knew about their addiction, or if they struggled to set goals for themselves. The good news? The doctors suggest that therapy to build self-control, along with including a partner in the healing process, could really help save lives.
