Supramolecular Host-Guest Assemblies for Tunable and Modular Lysosome-Targeting Protein Degradation.
Summary: Scientists have created a clever new way to destroy harmful proteins that cause diseases like cancer. Usually, drugs that do this are built as one solid piece, which makes them hard to adjust. The new invention, called HGTACs, works more like molecular Lego blocks. It uses two separate pieces that snap together to drag bad proteins into the cell's "trash can" (the lysosome). Because it's made of parts, doctors can easily swap pieces or change the dose to control exactly how well it works. In tests with mice, this new tool successfully destroyed cancer proteins and stopped tumors from growing!
