Surviving a hospital blizzard as a physician on call

Summary: Dr. George F. Smith remembers a massive snowstorm in Boston back in 1983. He was a young doctor working at Faulkner Hospital. The snow was so deep that the roads closed. The boss and the next shift of doctors couldn't get to work! Dr. Smith and the hospital staff were trapped inside for an extra night. They had to keep caring for patients with heart problems and pneumonia. Luckily, the emergency room was quiet because ambulances couldn't drive in the snow. It ended up being a cozy night of teamwork. Plus, being stuck in a hospital means you always have heat, backup power, and a cafeteria! Eventually, he dug out his old VW Beetle and drove home.
