Targeting of inflammation and prostaglandins by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in schizophrenia: A narrative review.

Summary: Schizophrenia is a brain disorder that causes people to see or hear things that aren't there. Doctors usually treat it with strong medicines, but these don't work for about 30% of patients and can cause bad side effects like weight gain or movement problems. Scientists have found that brain swelling, or inflammation, might play a big role in this illness. Because of this, everyday pain relievers that fight inflammation (like ibuprofen) might help. When added to regular treatments, these common drugs could calm the brain and help patients feel better.
