The association between cigarette smoking and sleep deprivation among adolescents in Gulf Cooperation Council countries: analysis of national surveys.
Summary: Did you know that teens who smoke are much more likely to lose out on sleep? A recent study looked at over 21,000 students aged 11 to 18 in five Middle Eastern countries. Researchers found that nearly 1 in 5 teens aren't getting enough sleep. Even more surprising, teens who smoke cigarettes have a 75% higher chance of being sleep-deprived compared to those who don't smoke. This shows that helping teens quit smoking might also help them get the rest they need to grow, learn, and stay healthy.
