Summary: Hepatoblastoma is the most common type of liver cancer in children. Usually, doctors treat it by doing surgery or giving the child a new liver (a transplant). But sometimes, a tumor is too hard to remove, and a transplant isn't possible. Regular radiation treatment can be too strong and might hurt the healthy parts of the liver.
Now, doctors are looking at a special kind of radiation called Proton Beam Therapy (PBT). PBT is like a smart laser—it stops exactly where the tumor is, which keeps the rest of the liver safe! This study looks at special pictures (like MRI scans) of the liver after PBT to see how well the treatment works and how the liver heals.
