The comparison of colpocleisis and sacrospinous ligament fixation surgeries for treatment of vaginal vault prolapse: an observational study.
Summary: Imagine your pelvic organs dropping after a hysterectomy. This is called vaginal vault prolapse, and it can be very uncomfortable. Doctors looked at two surgeries used to fix this in 49 older women: colpocleisis (closing the vagina) and SSLF (stitching the top of the vagina to a strong pelvic ligament). The good news? Both surgeries worked great! They were fast, safe, and had very few side effects. This makes both options an excellent choice for older women who might have other health problems.
