The effect of kinesiology taping on gait variability in healthy dogs.
Summary: Have you ever seen an athlete wearing bright, stretchy tape on their arms or legs? That's called kinesiology tape. Vets and pet owners are starting to use it on dogs, too! But does it actually change how a healthy dog walks?
Researchers tested this by putting tape on the back legs of eight healthy dogs. They used special mats to measure exactly how the dogs stood and walked. The result? The tape didn't change much at all. Only a tiny fraction of their walking habits changed. So, for healthy dogs, this tape doesn't do much to change their normal step.
