The “Ends Of The Earth” Is An Actual Place You Can Find On A Map

Summary: Have you ever wanted to travel to the ends of the Earth? It turns out, you actually can! If you want to go to the southernmost city in the world, you have a few choices. Puerto Williams in Chile is the furthest south, but it only has 2,000 people, making it more of a town. Punta Arenas is much bigger, but it's further north. The winner is Ushuaia in Argentina! It has 83,000 people, real city streets, and is located very far south.

What about the north? Because there is more land and slightly better weather up north, there are more places to choose from. Some spots in Canada and Norway are super far north, but barely anyone lives there all year. Longyearbyen in Norway is a great spot, but it is technically just a town. The winner for the northernmost true city is Utqiagvik in Alaska, which has about 5,000 people.

Since both of these extreme cities are in the Americas, you could technically walk from one end of the Earth to the other—once they finish building the highway, of course!
