The impact of earthquake preparedness training on mothers with physically disabled children: a randomized controlled study.

Summary: Imagine being a mom to a child with a physical disability. Now imagine trying to keep them safe during an earthquake. It can be a very scary thought! Researchers in Turkey wanted to see if special training could help these moms feel more prepared and less stressed.

They gathered 78 mothers and split them into two groups. One group received special earthquake preparedness training, while the other group did not. The results were clear: the moms who took the training felt much more prepared for a disaster. Even better, their mental toughness—or psychological resilience—went up significantly compared to the moms who didn't get the training. This study shows that teaching families how to get ready for disasters is a powerful way to keep them safe and feeling strong.
