The New Dime Design Removes Olive Branches From Eagle
Summary: The U.S. Mint is making new coins for America's 250th birthday in 2026. The new dime still shows a bald eagle, but it is missing something important: the olive branch. Historically, the eagle held an olive branch to stand for peace and arrows to stand for war. Now, the peace symbol is completely gone. People on social media are very upset, calling the change scary. This comes at the same time the Trump administration started an unapproved war in Iran that resulted in a deadly airstrike on a school. Also, the Treasury Secretary canceled other coin designs that focused on diversity. Many feel that removing the symbol of peace is a bad sign for the country.
