The relationship between physical activity and low back pain outcomes: a systematic review of observational studies.

Summary: If you suffer from lower back pain, you’ve probably heard the advice to "keep moving." Clinical guidelines often recommend exercise to manage non-specific low back pain, but does your daily activity level actually speed up recovery? A recent review analyzed 12 studies to see if people who were more active in their daily lives experienced less pain or disability. Surprisingly, the results were underwhelming. Ten of the twelve studies found no connection between activity levels and pain relief. Only two studies showed that being active helped. While staying active is generally healthy, this research suggests that simply moving more isn't a guaranteed fix for back pain, and doctors need better ways to measure activity to understand its true impact.
