The role of temozolomide as adjuvant therapy in glioblastoma management: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Summary: Brain cancer, specifically a type called glioblastoma, is very hard to treat because the tumors often come back. Doctors usually use radiation therapy to help shrink these tumors. A large new study looked at what happens when a drug called temozolomide (TMZ) is given along with the radiation. The results are very hopeful! Patients who received both the drug and the radiation lived longer and had more time before the cancer started growing again, compared to those who only got radiation. Even better, adding the drug did not cause more severe side effects. This means combining the two treatments is a highly effective and safe choice for patients.
