Three-point flanged optic piercing intrascleral fixation of multifocal intraocular lenses.
Summary: Imagine having a high-tech lens implanted in your eye to help you see near and far, only for it to slip out of place, causing blurry vision. Rather than removing and replacing these expensive "multifocal" lenses, surgeons tested a new rescue technique. They used a "three-point" stitching method to anchor the slipped lens firmly to the wall of the eye, like securing a trampoline with three strong springs. In a study of 13 patients, this technique successfully re-centered the lenses and restored excellent vision for reading, driving, and computer use. It offers a safe way to save the lens and restore sight.
