Transitioning to da Vinci Xi for colorectal cancer surgery: a prospective cohort study of 102 cases from a UK centre with a structured robotic programme.
Summary: Imagine a robot helping doctors perform surgery for colon cancer. A hospital in the UK started using a new robotic system called the da Vinci Xi. Because the doctors already knew how to use an older robot, they learned the new one very fast! They treated 102 patients, and the results were amazing. Patients had fewer problems, went home from the hospital much sooner, and the surgeries were highly successful at removing the cancer. This shows that training doctors with robots can make cancer care much better and safer for everyone.
