Treating Patients With Comorbid Eating Disorders and Personality Disorders: A Rationale.
Summary: People with eating disorders often face serious physical and mental health challenges. Standard treatments sometimes do not work well, and many patients drop out before getting better. Why does this happen? Many of these patients also have a personality disorder. Having both conditions makes it very hard for them to trust their doctors and work on changing their eating habits. To help them truly heal, doctors need to look for and treat both the eating disorder and the personality disorder at the same time.
