Summary: Making medical devices smooth and tough at the same time is hard. Scientists mixed two different materials to try and fix this. One material (PSBMA) is super slippery when wet, but it breaks easily. The other material (PCL) is very strong, but it doesn't slide well and repels water. When mixed together, they separate into tiny patches because they don't blend perfectly—like oil and water. The scientists tested different mixtures of these two materials to see which combination creates the best smooth and strong coating for medical tools.
