Tumors on a chip may lead to insights into pancreatic cancer
Summary: Pancreatic cancer is very deadly and hard to treat because it hides behind a thick wall of scar tissue that blocks medicine. To solve this, scientists in Texas invented a "tumor-on-a-chip." This tiny device acts like a real human body, complete with flowing fluids. Doctors can put a patient's actual cancer cells on the microchip to test different treatments, like chemotherapy, to see exactly what works best before giving it to the patient.
