Una RCP rápida de reanimadores legos puede casi duplicar las posibilidades de supervivencia de los niños tras un paro cardíaco
Summary: If a child’s heart suddenly stops, every single second counts. A new study shows that if a regular person (like a parent, teacher, or bystander) starts CPR within the first five minutes, a child's chances of surviving almost double!
While adults have about a 10-minute window, the time limit for kids is cut in half. Many people are scared to perform CPR on children because they worry about accidentally hurting them. However, doing 30 chest pushes (at 100 to 120 beats per minute) and 2 breaths right away is the absolute best way to save their life. Waiting even one extra minute can be dangerous: if you wait six to seven minutes, survival chances drop by 24%, and after 10 minutes, they drop by 41%. Don't wait for the ambulance to arrive—stepping in quickly can be the difference between life and death!
