University of Michigan awarded American Heart Association grant for CPR education and training
Summary: Did you know that 9 out of 10 people who have a heart emergency outside a hospital don't survive? Often, this happens because no one around them knows how to do CPR. Doing CPR right away can double or triple a person's chance of living!
To help fix this, the American Heart Association gave a special grant to the University of Michigan's Heart Club. The students received CPR training kits and $500 to teach others on their campus. Their big goal is to turn regular bystanders into lifesavers so that everyone knows how to help during an emergency.
