US Marines are on the hunt for a cloak they can wear to hide themselves from thermal-imaging sensors

Summary: The US Marines are looking for a special new cloak to hide their troops from enemy drones. On modern battlefields, like in Ukraine, enemies use cheap drones with thermal cameras that can see a person's body heat. If the enemy can see your heat, they can easily attack you.

To stay safe, the Marines want a "Multispectral Camouflage Overgarment." This high-tech cloak will hide a soldier's body heat from infrared cameras, night vision, and regular sight. It needs to be big enough to cover a Marine and all their heavy gear, and they must be able to put it on in just 15 seconds. The military hopes to have 61,000 of these cloaks ready for troops by the year 2030.
