Values, principles and research priorities for the implementation of type 2 diabetes prevention after gestational diabetes: A global consensus from Asia, Africa, Americas, Europe and Oceania.

Summary: Women who experience diabetes during pregnancy (gestational diabetes) face a high risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life. While we know how to prevent this, current programs often fail to reach those who need them most. To fix this, a global team called CHIRP gathered 100 doctors and mothers from five continents to identify what really matters. They agreed that prevention programs must be fair, evidence-based, and available to everyone. Surprisingly, the top priority identified wasn't just diet or medication—it was managing stress and mental well-being. Focusing on mental health, alongside exercise and breastfeeding support, is the key to helping mothers stay healthy worldwide.
