Vanderbilt Health and Bertis establish collaboration for cancer drug discovery

Summary: Vanderbilt Health and a tech company named Bertis are teaming up to fight cancer using artificial intelligence (AI). Usually, doctors look at a tumor as one big mixed-up blob, which makes it hard to see how the cells actually work together. Vanderbilt has a special AI tool that creates a detailed "map" of the tumor to see exactly where the cancer cells are hiding and how they interact with other cells.

Then, Bertis steps in. They use their own AI to study the proteins inside those specific cells. By putting Vanderbilt's map and Bertis's protein data together, they can find exact targets for new medicines. They are starting by focusing on "HER2-low" tumors, which have always been really tricky to treat. This teamwork between the U.S. and South Korea is a huge step forward in making smarter, more accurate cancer treatments.
