Virtual reality enhanced mindfulness and yoga intervention for postpartum depression and anxiety in the post COVID era.

Summary: Having a new baby is a beautiful experience, but it can also be very stressful. The COVID-19 pandemic made it even harder, leaving many new moms feeling sad or worried, especially if they were dealing with the lingering effects of long COVID. Doctors know that yoga and relaxing mindfulness exercises can help moms feel better, but going to in-person classes isn't always easy or possible.

To solve this, researchers tried a high-tech solution: Virtual Reality (VR). They gave 111 new moms VR headsets to practice yoga and mindfulness at home for 8 weeks. The results were amazing! The moms who used the VR headsets felt much less sad and anxious compared to those who didn't. Their bodies even showed lower levels of stress hormones. Using VR is a fun, easy, and highly effective way to help new moms feel happy and healthy again.
