What Is Shadow Work — and Can It Help You Heal?
Summary: We all have hidden parts of ourselves that we try to ignore, like jealousy, anger, or even confidence. This hidden side is called the "shadow self," a term created by psychiatrist Carl Jung. "Shadow work" is the process of exploring and accepting these buried traits so you can heal and grow. While it might sound a little spooky, it actually helps you understand your triggers, improve your self-esteem, and build better relationships.
You can start by noticing what makes you upset, journaling about your feelings, or talking to a therapist. Because shadow work can bring up tough emotions, it is important to practice self-care and make sure you are in a stable mental place before diving in. The goal isn't to fix yourself, but to accept all parts of who you are!
