Whole-Cell Lysosome SMLM Imaging as Indicators for Functional Diagnostics with a Low-Phototoxic Spontaneously Blinking Probe.
Summary: Lysosomes are like the tiny recycling centers of our cells. To see if they are working right, scientists need to take very close pictures of them over a long period of time. But the bright lights normally used for these pictures can damage or kill the cells. Now, researchers have made a new glowing dye called Aze-HMSiR. This dye blinks on its own and uses a gentle light, letting scientists safely record the cell's recycling centers for up to 50 minutes! They used this new tool to see how different cancer drugs affect cells, making it a powerful new way to test medicines safely and accurately.
