Women's Health Disorders in a Coeliac Disease Population After Diagnosis-A Nationwide Cohort Analysis.

Summary: Women with celiac disease often face extra health challenges, but how common are they? Researchers looked at health records from millions of women to find out. They compared over 9,000 women with celiac disease to those without it. The results showed that women with celiac disease are much more likely to have issues like missed periods, infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and early menopause. Because of these risks, doctors treating celiac disease should keep a close eye on women's reproductive health and work with gynecologists to help them stay healthy.
